The famed Baobab tree. Massive trunks to 30 feet in diameter, though in pots it's best grown for the large, thickened rootstock as the trunks take many years to develop. Full sun and ample water in growing season. Needs ample root run.

Large swollen tree with interesting projections from the trunk. Spiny stems and a thick rootstock perfect for bonsai work. Young plants. Full sun, moderate water while active, drier when dormant. Excellent as a landscape plant in low frost areas.
